Onderzoeksexpertise

Dr. Colebunders is specialised in internal medicine, professor in tropical diseases at the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) and professor in infectious diseases at the University of Antwerp. He is head of the Clinical HIV/STD Unit at ITM. He worked in Algeria (1974-76, primary health care and public Health), the Democratic of Congo (1985-87, Kinshasa, Projet SIDA), the US (1988, CDC, Atlanta) and Uganda (2003-4, Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University). His main expertise and research interest is in HIV, tuberculosis and hemorrhagic fevers.
