Bruno Meessen is economist (M.A., PhD). He is based at the Department of Public Health since 1999. His main domain of expertise is health sector reform, health care financing, performance-based financing and pro-poor strategies in low- and middle-income countries. His scientific research mainly goes through multi-country research projects funded by the European Commission. He currently focuses on sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia. Over the last years, he developed strong interest and commitment to knowledge management and peer-to-peer collaboration. At ITM, he teaches introduction to economics and health care financing in the Masters in Public Health program.
